Beedie has commenced construction on a significant industrial project in Surrey, BC, expected to enhance the local economy and logistics capabilities.
Beedie has officially commenced construction on the South Campbell Heights Business Park, a substantial 60-acre industrial development located at 19084 20th Avenue in Surrey, British Columbia. This project is poised to deliver over 1 million square feet of industrial space, establishing itself as a crucial gateway to the South Campbell Heights area. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in late June, attended by Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke, members of the Surrey City Council, city staff, as well as Beedie’s development and construction teams, representatives from Cushman & Wakefield, and the first tenant partner involved in the project. For Beedie, this milestone is a continuation of their more than 20-year history in Surrey. Mayor Locke emphasized this legacy during her remarks at the event, stating, "Surrey continues to attract the investment needed to support our growing economy, and last week's groundbreaking is an exciting example of that momentum." She further noted that 20 years after Beedie's initial development in Surrey, the South Campbell Heights Business Park signifies a substantial investment in employment opportunities and industrial growth.
The park is strategically situated within Campbell Heights, a well-established industrial area that offers direct access to Highway 15 and Highway 99, facilitating proximity to the Canada/US border. This advantageous location also provides efficient connections to Highway 91 and Highway 1, which is expected to reduce travel times to Deltaport, Canada’s largest container terminal, and Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Such logistical advantages make the site particularly well-suited for logistics, distribution, and last-mile operations.
Additionally, the surrounding area is rich with amenities, including restaurants, cafés, retail shops, banking facilities, hotels, and essential services, all within a short distance from the park. This is supported by a growing residential population and established commercial areas, which are contributing to the evolution of Campbell Heights into one of Surrey’s most vibrant business communities.
With construction now officially underway, further details regarding the project’s completion timeline will be released as it progresses.
