New École Mino Pimatisiwin School Opens in Winnipeg's Seven Oaks School Division

École Mino Pimatisiwin School has officially opened its doors in Winnipeg, catering to the educational needs of the community.

WINNIPEG — The École Mino Pimatisiwin School, a newly established educational institution catering to kindergarten through Grade 8 students, has commenced operations within the Seven Oaks School Division. This facility is strategically situated at 140 Mira Gate, in a rapidly developing area of Winnipeg, as highlighted in a recent announcement. With a capacity to accommodate 700 students, this modern school features a variety of innovative learning environments, including flexible classrooms, a dedicated band room, and specialized spaces for human ecology and applied technology. Additionally, the school is equipped with physical fitness facilities and has the potential for future expansion, with plans for an additional six classrooms.
A significant aspect of the school is its integrated child care centre, which provides 119 spaces for infants, preschoolers, and school-aged children. This centre is operated by Sugar-N-Spice Kiddie Haven and was made possible through funding from the Canada-Manitoba Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement. The total financial commitment for the project reached $4.6 million, underscoring the investment in early childhood education and care in the region. The opening of École Mino Pimatisiwin School marks a pivotal development in the educational landscape of Winnipeg, aiming to meet the needs of families in one of the city's most vibrant neighbourhoods.
