As of August 7, 2026, Ontario has unveiled a list of the top ten pre-bid road and highway projects, ranked by their projected value. At the forefront is the Highway 413 Transportation Corridor project, which boasts an estimated value of CAD 6 billion. This ambitious initiative aims to construct a 52-kilometer highway and transitway that will stretch from Highway 400 near Kirby Road and King-Vaughan Road in the east to the Highway 401/407 ETR interchange in the west. The project is designed to enhance connectivity between York, Peel, and Halton regions and includes key features such as a 4-kilometer extension of Highway 410, a 3-kilometer extension of Highway 427, and 11 interchanges at municipal roads. Additional infrastructure will encompass stormwater management ponds, carpool lots, commercial vehicle inspection stations, and maintenance facilities.
Following closely is the Marten Falls All Season Community Access Road, with a project value of CAD 1.3 billion. This project entails the construction of a 184-kilometer access road originating from the Marten Falls First Nation, starting at the northern end of the Painter Lake forestry road in Nakina. This initiative is particularly significant for enhancing access to remote communities in the region.
The Bradford Bypass Central Contract, valued at CAD 1 billion, is another notable project on the list. It involves site work and paving for a 4.9-kilometer stretch from west of Artesian Industrial Parkway to east of Yonge Street in Bradford. The project is expected to improve traffic flow and accessibility in the area.
Additionally, the Bradford Bypass East Contract, which also carries a value of CAD 1 billion, will extend the road east of Yonge Street to Highway 404. This project is currently in the design stage and aims to further enhance regional connectivity.
The Highway 17 Expansion project between Arnprior and Renfrew is set to cost CAD 500 million and will focus on improving the existing highway infrastructure in the area. Similarly, the Hwy 401 Eastbound Core and Collector Rehabilitation contract, estimated at CAD 500 million, will address necessary upgrades along the busy highway corridor in Toronto.
Other projects of interest include the 3300 Rutherford Road mixed-use residential development at CAD 425 million, the Dundas BRT project valued at CAD 405 million, and the Hwy 413 - Hwy 410 Extension to Hwy 10 Interchange, which is estimated at CAD 290 million. Lastly, the Lauzon Parkway Interchange project, with a value of CAD 125 million, aims to improve traffic management and access along the ON-401 in Windsor.
