Toronto Celebrates BTS with the Unveiling of BTS Boulevard and Proclamation of BTS Weekend

The City of Toronto has established BTS Boulevard on Yonge Street in honor of the K-pop group's upcoming performances, coinciding with the proclamation of BTS Weekend. This initiative aims to celebrate the vibrant Korean Canadian culture in the city.

On August 21, 2026, the City of Toronto celebrated the unveiling of BTS Boulevard along Yonge Street in North York, coinciding with the K-pop group BTS’s upcoming performances as part of their Arirang World Tour. This temporary street designation stretches from North York Boulevard to Finch Avenue and will be in effect until September 23, 2026. The ceremony was attended by the Councillor for Ward 18, along with various community partners and guests who came together to honor this cultural moment.
The signs marking BTS Boulevard are designed in a vibrant red, reflecting the visual branding associated with the current tour. Additionally, August 22 and 23 have been officially proclaimed as BTS Weekend in Toronto, coinciding with two sold-out concerts that are expected to attract thousands of fans from across Canada and around the world.
To further commemorate the occasion, the Toronto Sign located at Nathan Phillips Square will be illuminated in purple, a color that holds significant meaning for BTS and its dedicated fan community. This initiative, approved by the Toronto City Council, not only aims to celebrate BTS Weekend but also highlights Toronto’s rich Korean Canadian culture.
Visitors to BTS Boulevard will have the opportunity to engage with local Korean-owned businesses through the Yonge North York Business Improvement Area's (BIA) Korean Vibe Guide, which details the locations of all 20 BTS Boulevard street signs along Yonge Street. Following the designated period for the signs, they are set to be donated to NeighbourLink North York for a giveaway, with further details to be announced later.
The City of Toronto extends its gratitude to the Sunray Group of Hotels for their generous contribution towards the production of the BTS Boulevard signs. Information regarding the specific locations of these signs can be found on the Yonge North York BIA’s website.
