Menkes Developments Ltd. has achieved significant milestones with the welcoming of over 4,000 residents to its Festival community, groundbreaking at South Lake, and the unveiling of new public amenities in Toronto.
In a remarkable showcase of growth and community development, Menkes Developments Ltd. welcomed over 4,000 residents to their Festival and Grand Festival condominiums in the South VMC area. This achievement is a testament to the dedication of Menkes and the collaborative efforts of their team, partners, brokers, and buyers who have supported the development of what is hailed as Canada’s Best-Selling Condominium Community. The completion of this phase is just one part of an expansive project that includes the construction of a fourth tower, with more than 70,000 square feet of high-end indoor and outdoor amenities set to be finalized by the summer of 2026.Additionally, Menkes recently celebrated the groundbreaking of South Lake, an exclusive collection of thirty-seven detached homes situated in the desirable Bronte West neighborhood of South Oakville. This significant construction milestone signals a commitment to luxury living in one of the Greater Toronto Area's (GTA) most prestigious locations. Each residence is designed with meticulous attention to detail, blending sophisticated architectural aesthetics with the charm of the established Lakeshore Woods community.
In its ongoing efforts to enhance community spaces, Menkes, in collaboration with the City of Toronto and landscape architect O2 Planning & Design, introduced the 10,000 square meter “Park in Progress” at Sugar Wharf, located at 50 Queens Quay East. This initiative transforms what would have been underutilized space into a vibrant public park equipped with grass areas, meadows, trees, pathways, seating options, pickleball courts, and an off-leash area for dogs. The final design of the permanent park will be determined through a design competition, with its completion slated for 2030.
Menkes further announced significant leasing developments at 25 York Street in Toronto’s South Core, where Robinhood Canada, Co-operators Group, and the Ontario Hospitals Association have collectively leased over 200,000 square feet of office space. This landmark office tower has achieved a global record with a BOMA Best score of 100%, making it a sought-after location for businesses looking for sustainable, high-performance workspaces. With this latest leasing success, the building now boasts a 99% occupancy rate.
The company is also making strides in enhancing existing properties, with upgrades at 4711 Yonge Street, which began over the summer. The renovations include a redesigned north entrance, a new coffee bar, and collaborative seating areas, demonstrating Menkes’ commitment to improving the experience for building occupants and visitors.
At Winchester Estates in North Oshawa, construction is progressing with framing, brickwork, and interior finishes currently underway. This community will offer townhomes and detached homes, with the first residents expected to move in early next year, making it an attractive option for those seeking convenience with nearby amenities like highways, parks, shopping, and schools.
Moreover, Menkes has successfully leased a newly constructed industrial building at 4385 Mainway in Burlington, which spans 115,000 square feet and features modern design elements such as 40-foot clear heights. This achievement highlights Menkes’ position as a leader in developing functional industrial facilities across the GTA, addressing the increasing demand for new mid-bay warehousing and distribution spaces.
The company is also on track to deliver 7472 Fifth Line in Milton by November 2025, marking its fourth industrial building in the area within five years. Currently, this building is 40% pre-leased, with 92,596 square feet of prime industrial space still available. Menkes is committed to achieving LEED certification for all new industrial properties under construction, continuing to set standards for quality and sustainability in the industry.
Lastly, Menkes celebrated the public opening of Millway Avenue Linear Park at Mobilio in South VMC, designed to cater to residents and visitors. This park features an accessible playground, a basketball court, a gathering area, and open greenspace, enhancing the community's appeal. The opening of this park marks the completion of Mobilio, Vaughan’s first mixed-density community.
As part of its ongoing contributions to the community, Menkes also celebrated a decade-long partnership with The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, supporting life-saving cancer research, exemplified by a recent $1.2 million dollar bonus prize awarded at Adagio in Yorkville. The collaboration underscores Menkes' commitment to giving back to the community while delivering exceptional living spaces.
Through these projects and partnerships, Menkes Developments Ltd. continues to shape the landscape of the Greater Toronto Area, providing quality housing, office spaces, and community amenities that enhance the overall living experience.
