Menkes Developments Ltd. hosted its 25th annual Charity Golf Classic, raising over $2.1 million for healthcare initiatives, emphasizing its commitment to community support.
Toronto – On September 18, 2025, Menkes Developments Ltd. proudly celebrated its 25th annual Charity Golf Classic at the Lionhead Golf Club in Mississauga. This significant event drew over 270 participants, including family members, employees, and sponsors, marking a milestone in the company’s long-standing tradition of philanthropy. Through the generous contributions of its sponsors and participants, Menkes announced that it has successfully raised more than $2.1 million over the past quarter-century to benefit various healthcare institutions.Peter Menkes, President of Commercial/Industrial, expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to making this year’s tournament the most successful to date. "The Golf Charity Classic holds special significance for Menkes, as the tournament was founded in memory of a valued former employee. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make the 25th anniversary our most successful event yet," he stated.
Healthcare access is a core passion for the Menkes organization. Each principal of the company dedicates time to support healthcare initiatives across Canada. Steven Menkes, who leads Low-Rise Residential, is actively involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), while Alan Menkes, President of High-Rise Residential, serves on the board of the University Health Network (UHN). Peter Menkes himself is a trustee of UHN, demonstrating the company’s deep-rooted commitment to health and wellness.
This year’s tournament specifically supported the JDRF, which works tirelessly to improve the lives of individuals affected by type 1 diabetes through research funding, advocacy for government support, and community engagement. "Menkes Developments is more than just a city builder. For decades we have found ways to support various organizations within the GTA, from arts and cultural events to important health and wellness initiatives," said Steven Menkes.
In addition to its ongoing support for JDRF, Menkes Developments is also proud to aid the University Health Network and its associated foundations. These efforts focus on enhancing UHN hospitals through the establishment of new medical and research facilities and attracting top healthcare professionals and scientists.
For the first time, Menkes is extending its philanthropic reach to Youth Assisting Youth, with donations aimed at empowering at-risk youth and newcomers through mentorship. "Menkes is honoured to engage in an array of philanthropic endeavours supporting numerous healthcare programs, specifically centered in the communities in which we seek to invest and strengthen for the collective benefit of all," commented Alan Menkes.
