Patrick McManus Appointed President and CEO of Electro-Federation Canada

Patrick McManus has been appointed as the new president and CEO of Electro-Federation Canada, effective October 13, succeeding Carol McGlogan, who is retiring after a decade of service.

TORONTO — Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) has officially announced the appointment of Patrick McManus as its new president and CEO, a role he will assume on October 13. McManus, who is currently the executive director of both the Ontario Sewer and Watermain Construction Association and the Greater Toronto Sewer and Watermain Contractors’ Association, brings a wealth of experience to this leadership position. His extensive background in working with manufacturers, distributors, and contractors on advocacy, government relations, labor relations, and stakeholder engagement was highlighted in the association's announcement.
Catherine McKeown, chair of EFC’s board of directors, expressed confidence in McManus’s ability to lead the organization. "Patrick brings the leadership experience, collaborative approach, and strategic perspective needed to represent EFC’s diverse membership and guide the association into its next chapter," she stated.
The decision to appoint McManus came after a thorough search process led by a committee that included representatives from each of EFC’s membership categories. The committee was supported by Boyden, a global executive search firm, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of candidates.
In response to his appointment, McManus expressed enthusiasm for the role, saying, "I am honoured to join EFC and to have the opportunity to represent a membership that is playing such an important role in Canada’s economic growth and electrified future." He emphasized his eagerness to connect with members, understand their priorities, and collaborate closely with the board and staff to build upon the solid foundation established by the organization.
McManus will take over the leadership from Carol McGlogan, who is retiring after a decade of service to EFC. McGlogan will remain with the organization until the end of 2026 to assist with the transition process. Reflecting on the selection of McManus, she noted, "Through the selection process, I was impressed by Patrick’s thoughtful questions, willingness to learn, and genuine interest in EFC and our team. I believe he will be a strong people leader and an excellent fit for our organization."
Electro-Federation Canada is a national not-for-profit association that represents more than 230 member companies within Canada’s electrical and automation sectors. This includes a broad range of stakeholders, such as manufacturers, distributors, and manufacturers’ representatives, all of whom play a vital role in the advancement of the industry.
