Grosvenor Property Canada Finalizes 10-Year Lease with Doka Canada on Annacis Island

Grosvenor Property Canada has secured a 10-year lease with Doka Canada for a 15-acre industrial site on Annacis Island, enhancing Doka's operational footprint in Metro Vancouver and showcasing a strategic partnership in the construction sector.

In Vancouver, Grosvenor Property Canada (GPC) has successfully concluded its second significant industrial lease transaction on Annacis Island this year, partnering with Doka Canada Ltd., a prominent provider of formwork and scaffolding systems. The lease agreement spans 10 years and takes effect this month for the property located at 830 Carlisle Street, which encompasses 15 acres and was previously the site of Russel Metals. Robert Duteau, executive vice-president of investment at GPC, stated that this lease signifies a distinctive collaboration between the landlord and the tenant, particularly as GPC is currently employing Doka's proprietary formwork systems for its Brentwood Block project, a landmark mixed-use master-planned community situated in Burnaby, British Columbia. "The fact that we are working with Doka both as a tenant and as a trusted construction partner speaks to the quality of their products and their reputation within the industry. It’s rewarding to see this evolution of our partnership," Duteau remarked. Grosvenor Property Canada has also noted that this new facility on Annacis Island will bolster Doka's expansion efforts in Western Canada, effectively doubling the company's operational presence in the Metro Vancouver area. Gunnar Falke, CEO of Doka Canada Ltd., commented, "The new Annacis Island facility marks an important step in Doka’s continued growth in Western Canada. This investment reflects our confidence in the ongoing strength of British Columbia’s construction sector and reinforces Doka’s commitment to being close to our customers, helping them meet evolving project demands with innovative formwork and scaffolding solutions." Earlier in June, Grosvenor announced another significant lease on Annacis Island with S&S Activewear. Notably, Grosvenor acquired Annacis Island in 1952, marking its first major international investment. Currently, the company actively manages and owns a total of 185 acres on the Island.
