Lindsay Construction and Comztar Launch New Industrial Facility in Moncton

Lindsay Construction and Comztar Commercial Properties have commenced construction on a state-of-the-art industrial facility in Moncton, aimed at promoting energy efficiency and modern logistics.

In Moncton, New Brunswick, Lindsay Construction, in collaboration with Comztar Commercial Properties, has officially commenced construction on a cutting-edge industrial facility located at 80 Frenette Ave. The new development is situated within the Caledonia Industrial Park and encompasses an impressive 67,000 square feet of space, spread across a 12-acre site. This facility is designed to be energy-efficient, with features that allow it to meet the diverse needs of industrial, warehousing, and distribution operations. Notably, the building can accommodate a single tenant or be subdivided to cater to multiple users.
The structure will boast 31-foot high exterior walls and an interior height of 26 feet. Additionally, it will be equipped with rear loading docks that have electric dock levelers, ensuring it meets the demands of modern logistics operations. A significant highlight of the project is its commitment to sustainability; the facility is designed to exceed the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings 2020 by 29 percent, surpassing the standards set by Tier 2 requirements.
Cathy Sweet, CEO of Comztar Properties, emphasized the importance of this development, stating, “By exceeding national energy standards, this facility will help reduce operating costs for tenants while contributing to more sustainable industrial development in Greater Moncton.” The new building is set to become part of a significant cluster of distribution centers in the region, joining established names such as Walmart, Loblaws, and Irving.
The project has a targeted completion date set for early 2027, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing development of industrial infrastructure in Moncton. As this facility takes shape, it reflects broader trends in the construction industry that prioritize energy efficiency and sustainability, critical factors that are increasingly influencing market demands and operational strategies across the sector.
