OSSGA Launches Campaign to Showcase the Aggregate Industry's Contribution to Ontario Communities

The Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (OSSGA) has initiated a campaign aimed at raising awareness about the aggregate industry's significant role in local job support, infrastructure development, and economic growth throughout Ontario, particularly in specific municipalities.

In an effort to underscore the essential contributions of the aggregate industry to local economies, the Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (OSSGA) has launched a new awareness campaign set to run throughout September. This initiative aims to highlight the pivotal role that aggregates play in supporting infrastructure, creating jobs, and fostering economic growth across Ontario. The campaign will specifically target municipalities such as Caledon, Milton, North Dumfries, Puslinch, and Ramara, utilizing digital content to engage local communities.
Through a series of videos and graphics disseminated via various digital platforms, the campaign will illustrate how locally sourced aggregates are integral to the construction and maintenance of vital infrastructure, including roads, homes, and community facilities that residents depend on daily. Sharon Armstrong, the executive director of OSSGA, emphasized the importance of municipal partnerships in building cohesive and resilient communities. She stated, "This campaign is about sharing the local story of our industry and highlighting the people, jobs, and materials that help make growth and infrastructure possible in communities across Ontario."
The necessity for municipal engagement is a key aspect of this campaign, as it aims to ensure that decision-makers recognize the significance of timely access to locally sourced materials. As highlighted by the OSSGA, aggregates are fundamental to the development of new schools, roads, homes, and hospitals, which are crucial for accommodating future growth and enhancing community infrastructure.
By targeting specific municipalities, the OSSGA seeks to create a localized narrative that resonates with residents and local officials alike. The campaign serves not only as an informative tool but also as a call to action for municipalities to collaborate with the aggregate sector in facilitating sustainable growth. Through this initiative, the OSSGA aims to reinforce the message that the aggregate industry is a vital partner in the ongoing development of Ontario's communities, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet future demands and challenges.
