Ainley Group Marks 65 Years with Community Investment

Ainley Group celebrates its 65th anniversary by investing $65,000 in the Collingwood community, supporting the Tomorrow’s Hospital project.

COLLINGWOOD, ONT. — Ainley Group, a prominent engineering and planning services firm, has recently marked its 65th anniversary with a significant community investment of $65,000. Founded in Collingwood, Ontario, in 1961 by William “Bill” Ainley, the company has evolved from a local engineering practice into a multidisciplinary organization that serves various municipalities and public- and private-sector clients from six offices throughout Ontario. To celebrate this milestone, the firm has chosen to make a donation to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation, which is working on the development of Tomorrow’s Hospital, a new healthcare facility aimed at serving the growing population in the South Georgian Bay region. "We wanted our 65th anniversary to be about more than looking back — we wanted it to be about giving back," stated Joe Mullan, the president and CEO of Ainley Group, emphasizing the firm's commitment to community support. This gesture is particularly poignant following the recent passing of Simon Ainley, who served as chairman and played a crucial role in guiding the company’s mission and values. His leadership was instrumental in maintaining the commitment to community that the firm's founders established. Alongside the donation, Ainley Group has also unveiled a new logo, a project that Simon Ainley was passionate about. Christine Thorburn, vice-president of marketing and proposals, noted that the logo is designed to encapsulate both the firm’s rich heritage and its current identity. It symbolizes innovation, growth, collaboration, and connection, while also reflecting the infrastructure that plays a vital role in community development. The design maintains continuity with Ainley Group’s established colors, thereby preserving the recognition and trust the firm has built over its 65-year history. The revitalized logo reinforces the notion that infrastructure is fundamentally about people. Whether it involves planning transportation corridors, enhancing water or wastewater systems, rehabilitating bridges, or fostering community growth, Ainley Group is dedicated to collaborating with its clients to create infrastructure that enhances the quality of life for residents in their communities.
