CCTA Collingwood Staff Participate in Community Clean-Up Effort

CCTA Collingwood staff joined the Simcoe County Adopt-a-Road Program to clean up Poplar Side Road, collecting significant amounts of litter and debris.

On Saturday, October 13, 2018, members of the CCTA Collingwood team took part in the Simcoe County Adopt-a-Road Program, focusing their efforts on Poplar Side Road, which runs between Raglan and Hurontario Streets. This initiative encourages local businesses and community groups to volunteer for the maintenance of sections of road, with clean-up events scheduled twice a year, once in the spring and again in the fall.
The weather on this particular Saturday was favorable, which greatly enhanced the experience for the volunteers. Throughout the clean-up, the group managed to collect approximately twenty bags of garbage, alongside some unusual finds, including a suitcase that contained a lei and a Hula skirt, as well as a substantial pile of wires.
The participation of CCTA Collingwood staff in this event reflects the companyโ€™s commitment to community engagement and environmental stewardship. The Adopt-a-Road Program not only helps keep local roadways clean but also fosters a sense of community among participants.
The success of the day was made possible by the efforts of those who volunteered, and the group expressed gratitude to all who contributed to this initiative. The collected debris not only beautified the area but also promoted responsible environmental practices within the community.
Community clean-up events like these are vital in raising awareness about littering and its impacts on the environment. They also provide an opportunity for local businesses and residents to come together for a common cause, strengthening community ties.
As the CCTA Collingwood staff reflected on their successful clean-up, they looked forward to future participation in similar initiatives, emphasizing the importance of maintaining clean and safe public spaces.
In conclusion, the collaborative effort to clean up Poplar Side Road is a prime example of how local organizations can contribute positively to their surroundings, creating a cleaner and more inviting environment for everyone.
