The City of Toronto has officially launched Summerlicious 2026, inviting residents and visitors to enjoy a culinary experience featuring prix fixe menus from over 230 local restaurants, running until July 19.
On July 3, 2026, Mayor Olivia Chow and Councillor Rachel Chernos-Lin (Don Valley West) kicked off the much-anticipated Summerlicious 2026 event. This annual culinary celebration invites both residents and visitors to partake in a unique dining experience that showcases Toronto's rich and diverse food culture. The event runs from now until July 19, under the theme 'Taste the World in a City,' offering three-course prix fixe menus at more than 230 participating restaurants throughout the city.Summerlicious provides a fantastic opportunity for diners to explore Toronto's globally recognized culinary scene, with specially curated menus available at accessible price points. Lunch options range from $20 to $55, while dinner prices vary between $25 and $75, ensuring a variety of choices for all budgets. The participating restaurants span the entire city, representing neighborhoods from the bustling downtown core to the more suburban areas of Scarborough, Etobicoke, and North York, among others.
This year's event features over 30 new restaurants, adding to the excitement and variety. Notable new entrants include Alobar Downtown, Casa Morales, CKB, El Inka Peruvian Cuisine, Flame Sushi, The Frederick, Ju-Raku, Koh Lipe Scarborough, Melani, Punch, and Tis Two Cities. A significant highlight is that nearly 75% of these restaurants will offer three-course vegetarian meals, catering to the growing demand for plant-based dining. Additionally, around 40% of participating venues will provide gluten-free meal options, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity in dining.
A comprehensive list of all participating restaurants, along with their menus, can be accessed via the City of Toronto's website. This resource allows diners to search by cuisine, neighborhood, price point, and dietary preferences such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and locally sourced options.
The Summerlicious 2026 initiative is supported by various media partners, including CHUM 104.5, CP24, Newstalk 1010, NOW Toronto, Toronto Star, and Virgin Radio 99.9, ensuring extensive coverage of the event. For those interested in visual content, high-resolution images and a promotional video are available on the City's media room webpage and YouTube channel, respectively.
Since its inception in 2003, the Summerlicious and its winter counterpart, Winterlicious, have played a crucial role in bolstering the local restaurant industry, especially during slower business periods. The programs have collectively served over eight million meals and generated an impressive $353 million in economic activity for Toronto's restaurants.
Mayor Olivia Chow expressed her enthusiasm about the event, stating, "Summerlicious is finally here and it’s the perfect reason to gather with loved ones for a shared meal. With restaurants participating across the city and menus at different price points, there’s no better time to enjoy the summer, explore new cuisines, and support our vibrant local food scene. Make a reservation today!"
Councillor Rachel Chernos-Lin also commented on the significance of Summerlicious, remarking, "It’s the best time to enjoy seasonal, locally sourced menus, explore new neighborhoods, and visit local restaurants and businesses. Every reservation supports our hospitality workers — from owners, to entrepreneurs, to servers — and helps keep our communities strong and connected."
