Cielo Condos Topping Off Ceremony Marks Key Milestone in Toronto's Annex

Cielo Condos reaches a significant construction milestone with the completion of structural formwork for its 34-storey tower in Toronto's Annex, integrating historic church restoration into the project.

TORONTO – A significant construction milestone was achieved recently with the topping off ceremony for Cielo Condos, which signifies the completion of the structural formwork for the impressive 34-storey condominium tower. This development, located at 300 Bloor St W in Toronto's Annex neighbourhood, is currently under construction and is valued at $57.5 million. The project is a collaboration between Collecdev Markee and Northam Realty Advisors, alongside financial backing from RBC and Shiplake Properties. The architectural design is led by KPMB Architects and aims to provide 349 residential units upon completion.
In addition to the condominium tower, the project also encompasses the restoration and transformation of the historic Bloor Street United Church and George C. Pidgeon House. This initiative will create new worship, office, community, and gathering spaces for the Bloor Street United Church, as well as for the broader United Church of Canada. This integration of historical structures into the modern development is intended to preserve architectural heritage while providing updated facilities for community use.
The restoration process aims to modernize the spaces for worship and community programming, including archives and administration, while fostering interdenominational collaboration. The church and the historic house will be incorporated within the building's podium, ensuring that these cultural landmarks are respected and maintained within the new development.
As construction progresses, the Cielo Condos project is on track for completion next year. This milestone not only highlights the development's architectural significance but also its commitment to community enhancement and historical preservation in a rapidly evolving urban landscape.
