Hazelview's Station House in Toronto has received Rainbow Registered accreditation, recognizing its commitment to inclusivity for the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
In Toronto, Hazelview has announced that its purpose-built rental community, Station House, located at the intersection of Bloor and Dufferin, has been awarded Rainbow Registered accreditation. This national designation, granted by Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce, acknowledges organizations that strive to create welcoming and inclusive environments for 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Station House, which opened its doors earlier this year, will contribute over 1,100 new rental homes to the west end of Toronto as part of a broader mixed-use redevelopment initiative. The accreditation is a testament to Hazelview’s sustained commitment to fostering communities where residents, employees, and visitors feel safe, respected, and proud to belong. According to a company release, this recognition also signifies a significant milestone in Hazelview’s overarching belonging strategy, which aims to integrate inclusion into various facets such as policies, training, leadership practices, and the overall resident experience. Notably, Station House is Hazelview’s ninth residential rental community to receive the prestigious Rainbow Registered accreditation, marking it as the eleventh overall for the organization. This accreditation is awarded following a thorough independent evaluation of an organization’s policies, training protocols, leadership dedication, and organizational culture. The recognition of Station House is attributed to Hazelview’s persistent efforts to promote inclusivity within its communities, which includes comprehensive employee training, the establishment of inclusive policies and procedures, and a commitment from leadership to engage with residents, community organizations, and local stakeholders.
