Vancouver Regional Construction Association Unveils 2026 Outstanding Achievement Award Nominees

The VRCA has announced the nominees for its 2026 Outstanding Achievement Awards, honoring individuals and organizations that have significantly contributed to the construction industry in British Columbia.

Vancouver – The Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) has announced 32 nominees for the 2026 Outstanding Achievement Awards, which celebrate individuals and organizations making significant contributions to the construction sector in British Columbia. According to a recent press release, the VRCA Awards of Excellence have been recognizing achievement for 37 years, establishing a reputation for honoring accomplishments based on merit, expertise, and impact within the industry. The Outstanding Achievement Awards expand this recognition, focusing on the leadership and contributions that are shaping the future landscape of construction.
Jeannine Martin, president of the VRCA, commented on the importance of these nominees, stating, "Construction keeps evolving because people are willing to ask how we can do things better. And that’s exactly what this year’s nominees are doing. They’re building safer workplaces, opening doors for others, finding smarter ways to work, and showing what great leadership looks like. We’re proud to recognize the people and organizations who aren’t just succeeding in our industry; they’re helping move it forward."
This year’s nominees have been categorized into eight distinct categories, showcasing a diverse range of contributions. The nominees for Construction Workplace Health & Safety Innovation include Shepherd Mountain from Canadian Turner Construction Company. In the Education Leadership category, Alain MacNair of ETRO Construction and Lindsay Langill of Pacific Pile Marine have been recognized.
The Inclusive Leadership in Construction category features nominees such as Graham Murphy from Murphy Construction, Mario Galdones of RWC Systems, and Whitney de Ruiter from Canadian Turner Construction Company. In the Innovation & Productivity category, notable projects include the Bella Coola Pool by Chandos Construction, Derek Groot from Graham Construction, the Precon Insight Hub by Canadian Turner Construction Company, and the Prefab MEP Washroom by ETRO Construction.
The Outstanding Woman in Construction category celebrates the achievements of Christine Chan from Canadian Turner Construction Company, Danuta Wojtowicz of Maple Reinders, Jen Racine also from Maple Reinders, Keeli Husband of EllisDon, Krista Chisholm from Smith Brothers & Wilson, and Maddie Davidson from Davidson Bros. The YCL Excellence in Construction Award nominees include Aidan Docherty of Maple Reinders, Avi Horwitz from Sterling Floor & Tile, Caleb Palam of Maple Reinders, Cam Roy from RAM Construction, Dan Chyzowski of ETRO Construction, Faiz Ali from Bothwell Accurate, Jamie McGale of Murphy Construction, Keeli Husband of EllisDon, and Robin Lauw from Maple Reinders.
Additionally, the Zero Emissions Building Leadership category features BCIT Timber, represented by Ledcor Construction Limited. The award recipients will be revealed at the 37th Annual VRCA Awards of Excellence Gala, scheduled for October 16. Tickets for the event are currently available for purchase.
