Augmenta has launched ACP 2.0, an advanced design platform that enhances the efficiency and coordination of electrical contractors across North America, significantly reducing design time and improving project outcomes.
On June 17, 2026, Augmenta, an innovative AI-driven design platform for the construction sector, announced the launch of the Augmenta Construction Platform (ACP) 2.0. This new version has been developed in collaboration with leading electrical contractors in North America and aims to create a comprehensive design environment tailored for Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) teams. The updated platform promises to streamline the design process, enabling teams to plan, route, coordinate, and iterate on designs far more efficiently than before, drastically reducing project timelines from weeks to mere days. One of the standout features of ACP 2.0 is its ability to accelerate the full coordination cycle. Teams can now transition from an empty model to a fully coordinated electrical design without the need for manual adjustments in Revit, thanks to an automated router that generates detailed, clash-free electrical raceway systems in just minutes. Real-time clash detection against the complete 3D background model—including ducts, pipes, and structural elements—allows teams to identify and resolve conflicts within the same platform during the construction phase, thereby minimizing the potential for costly rework later in the project.
The introduction of full underground routing support is another significant enhancement in ACP 2.0, enabling teams to manage both overhead and underground design tasks within a unified workflow. Users can define pathways, apply necessary pitch and slope, and create detailed conduit runs for in-slab and underground applications without needing to switch between different tools or processes.
Aaron Szymanski, co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Augmenta, emphasized the importance of speed and adaptability in the coordination process. He noted that contractors had expressed a strong desire for a swift initial pass on designs while retaining the ability to maintain their position in the model throughout the coordination process. ACP 2.0 is designed with this feedback in mind, allowing AI to handle the routing and coordination logic while empowering teams to inject their industry knowledge and constructibility insights into the models.
Accessible via a browser, ACP 2.0 facilitates contributions from team members without requiring advanced modeling skills or expertise in Revit. This democratization of the design process enables more team members to engage early on, enhancing the coordination cycle and ensuring that field knowledge is integrated into the BIM process at an earlier stage.
The implications of this release extend beyond just improved coordination efficiency. For operations leaders, the ability of VDC teams to produce models ready for coordination at a faster pace, and to adapt to design changes without disrupting schedules, significantly enhances the organization's capacity to take on more projects. As Francesco Iorio, co-founder and CEO of Augmenta, pointed out, contractors are increasingly being tasked with delivering more complex work on tighter schedules, all while maintaining the same workforce size. ACP 2.0 addresses this challenge by providing a means to meet growing demands without the need for additional headcount.
Looking ahead, Iorio described ACP 2.0 as a crucial step toward a broader vision: a singular platform capable of managing the entire design process—from initial routing decisions through coordination and into fabrication—all in one cohesive environment. To showcase the capabilities of ACP 2.0, Augmenta will host a live walkthrough on June 24, offering a comprehensive demonstration of the new workflow and its features.
