Among those closing their doors are all banks, government offices, and libraries, alongside the LCBO and most major grocery stores. Public transit will be operational, with GO Transit running on a Saturday schedule and the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) following a Sunday schedule that begins earlier at 6 a.m.
For those seeking retail opportunities, several malls will be open to the public, including CF Markville, which will operate from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and CF Toronto Eaton Centre, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pacific Mall will have extended hours from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., while Promenade Mall and Square One will both be accessible from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Toronto Premium Outlets will open their doors from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Grocery shopping is also possible on Canada Day, with select locations remaining open. Farm Boy on Bay Street will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and its other locations at Queens Quay West and St. Clair Avenue East will have varying hours. Loblaws at 60 Carlton Street will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., while Pusateri’s Fine Foods and Rabba Fine Foods will also welcome customers, with the latter being open 24 hours.
Several attractions across Toronto will be open to celebrate Canada Day. The Aga Khan Museum and Art Gallery of Ontario will welcome visitors during the day, alongside the Bata Shoe Museum and Canada's Wonderland, which will operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Other sites such as the CN Tower, Gardiner Museum, and Toronto Zoo will also have their doors open, providing opportunities for entertainment and exploration.
