Felicia Wiltshire Appointed as First Female President and CEO of Manitoba Heavy Construction Association

Felicia Wiltshire will become the first female president and CEO of the Manitoba Heavy Construction Association on December 1, 2026, succeeding Chris Lorenc after his long tenure.

In a significant development for the Manitoba Heavy Construction Association (MHCA), the board of directors has announced the appointment of Felicia Wiltshire as its next president and CEO, effective December 1, 2026. This marks a historic milestone, as Wiltshire will be the first woman to hold this position in the association's over 80-year history and will be the fourth president and CEO overall. She takes over from Chris Lorenc, who has led the organization for more than 35 years and announced his retirement earlier this year, set for the end of 2026. John Highmoor, the chair of the board, expressed confidence in Wiltshire's leadership abilities, stating, "Felicia brings a wealth of leadership experience, strategic insight, and a strong understanding of the issues facing our industry." Highmoor further emphasized Wiltshire's commitment to MHCA's members and her rapid establishment as a trusted advocate for the heavy construction sector since her appointment as vice-president in June 2025. During her time at MHCA, Wiltshire collaborated closely with Lorenc on various matters, including industry advocacy, government relations, and strategic initiatives. With over two decades of experience working with organizations and senior leaders across multiple sectors, her background includes expertise in communications, government relations, stakeholder engagement, and policy development, with significant roles in political, healthcare, and municipal contexts. Prior to joining MHCA, she spent a decade as the director of customer service and communications for the City of Winnipeg. Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, Wiltshire remarked, "Chris Lorenc has had an extraordinary impact on MHCA and the heavy construction industry throughout his remarkable tenure. I am honored by the board's confidence in me and grateful for the opportunity to build on the strong foundation that has been established." As part of the transition in leadership, Wiltshire and the MHCA board will embark on developing a strategic plan that will actively engage members in shaping the association's priorities and direction for the years to come. Wiltshire noted, "After more than three decades of consistent leadership, this is a significant milestone for MHCA. It is an important opportunity to connect with our members, listen to their perspectives, and ensure the Association continues to evolve in ways that meet their needs and expectations."
