Questerre Energy Corp. has agreed to sell its minority stake in the Kakwa Central assets in Alberta for $23.5 million in cash. The deal includes the transfer of decommissioning liabilities and firm transportation and processing contracts. The sale is expected to boost the company's balance sheet without the need for equity capital issuance, allowing a focus on developing other assets, particularly the adjacent Kakwa North assets. Production from Kakwa Central averaged 650 barrels of oil equivalent per day in Q1 2026, with the transaction set to close on May 1. Post-sale, production is projected to exceed 4,500 boepd, including output from Kakwa North assets where Questerre holds a 50% working interest.
This news is significant in the Canadian construction industry as it involves the sale of energy assets in Alberta, impacting the energy sector. The transaction reflects Questerre Energy Corp.'s strategic shift towards optimizing its asset portfolio and strengthening its financial position, which could influence future investment decisions and industry dynamics.← Previous Post
